You are given a written estimate of the time and the fees for all scheduled treatment, before any of it starts. No surprises is a policy here, not a slogan.
Before treatment you are provided with the details of it and an estimate of the time involved and the fees. Payment is expected at the time of treatment unless prior arrangements have been made with our Business Manager. A written estimate of fees is provided for all scheduled treatment.
Many of our patients have dental insurance. It is worth remembering that your dental insurance policy is an agreement between you, or your employer, and the insurance company. Dental insurance is a method of reimbursing the patient for fees paid to the doctor; it is not a substitute for payment, and we are only a third party in that arrangement.
We follow a programme that simplifies the preparation of insurance claim forms, which holds down office costs unrelated to the delivery of good dental care. The form we give you carries all of the information your insurance company needs from us. Attach it to the one your carrier provides and submit it for processing.
No insurance company attempts to cover all dental costs. Some pay fixed allowances for certain procedures, others pay percentages of allowances. We will happily provide everything you need in order to apply for payment, but the schedule of payment reflects your own policy and is determined by the premiums paid for it, not by us.
If cost is the thing standing between you and treatment, say so. Arrangements can usually be made, and they are easier to make before the work starts than after.
Call the practice, or send a note and we will call you back the same working day. Saturday appointments, free parking, and the Metro‑North platform two minutes away.
