The tooth is cleaned and dried, an etching material is applied, and the liquid sealant is painted on. Once it hardens, you are done. The whole thing is quick and painless and can be completed during a regular checkup.
Sealants are most commonly used for children, but they are equally effective for adults. If your molars have deep grooves, ask at your next visit.
